This weeks theme was a tough one. I came up with several ideas, a few I have tabled for now and might try in the spring.
There was an image I saw on facebook earlier in the week that got stuck in my head, it was in the group People and Places of Rome NY. Jon Sturdevant posted some photo's of a snow cabin and snow sculptures he was building in his backyard. I kept imagining that little house deep in the woods on a winter's night. I contacted Jon and he gave me permission to stop by and photograph the sculptures he created with the help of his brother Mike. Using their wonderful imagination I was able to create what I saw when I first viewed his snow sculptures photos on facebook.
I used Jessica Drossin's Beautiful World Foundation Actions and her Endless Winter Actions and Overlays to create the tone of the photo. I also used Captured by Carrie's Twinkling Star and Wolf Pack Overlays and the moon was created with a paint brush by Falln-Stock.
I'm not the only one who's imagination was captured by Jon's sculptures. Nicole Pitt did a wonderful segment on WKTV News which has been shared by several blogs, websites and news channels including The Weather Channel.
Thank you Jon and Mike for your wonderful imagination and for igniting the imagination of us all who are following your work.
