One of the things I love the most about living in upstate NY are the changes in the seasons. There is something I love about every season, but I have to admit that this time of the year is a bit of a struggle for me.
I love the first few snowfalls, I love the way the light reflects off the snow, the way it settles in tree branches and blows across open fields. I love driving past peoples homes and seeing warmth radiate from windows and Christmas lights adorning porches, but as January starts to end my love of winter starts to wain. I long for warmer days, longer days, and time spent in the sun.
While driving home from my parents house last week, I was reminded of the beauty that winter has to offer. It are these little gems that make the colder days a bit better. So until the warmth returns I have decide to keep looking for the things that make winter so magical, starting with a simple sunset.
(These are the photo's I took on that ride home. I stopped only once while driving down Buck Hill and these were all taken in the same field. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.)
