Summer Vacation has begun! Last week, after the last day of school, my daughter and I boarded a plane and flew to Nashville Tennessee to visit my oldest and dearest friend.
I didn't get my weekly post up that week so I thought I would share it along with this weeks.
While in Tennessee my daughter got to shoot off fireworks and play around with sparklers for the first time. We had the best time picking out which ones we wanted to try at the fireworks tent. It is illegal in New York state to fire them off without a license so this was a great treat.
"Fireworks had for her a direct and magical appeal. Their attraction was more complex than that of any other form of art. They had pattern and sequence, colour and sound, brilliance and mobility; they had suspense, surprise, and a faint hint of danger; above all, they had the supreme quality of transience, which puts the keenest edge on beauty and makes it touch some spring in the heart which more enduring excellences cannot reach." ~Jan Struther, Mrs. Miniver, 1930s
Backlighting, if done right can incredibly beautiful. I have always struggled a bit with getting the coloring right and the subject matter to standout from the light.
This photo was taken of my daughter's lacrosse team after one of their games. This is her second year of summer lacrosse.
Be sure to check out Brandi Williamson Photography to see her post on this weeks theme.
